I met Ann at a St  Valentines  day  dance in the Embassy Ballroom in Welling. After the first couple of dances I could not have imagined that our relationship would last 67 years , 64 of them happily married. We had a difficult start to our marriage as Ann had to give up work to nurse her mother through the last stages of her cancer and then keep her promise to look after her father.  It put a hold on plans for our own home and a family. Then Susan and Garry were born and we finally had a home of our own.                                     Susan and Garry both went on to each be happily married and produce four grandchildren, Rebecca and Thomas and Naomi and Benjamin. Now well-mannered intelligent adults that Ann and I are immensely proud of.
